Coastie-Owned Businesses
Support a Coastie. Strengthen Our Community.
The Coast Guard community is built on service, trust, and looking out for one another. That connection doesn't end when we leave active duty.
Across the country, Coast Guard veterans and military spouses are building businesses, creating opportunities, and serving their communities in countless ways.
At Coastie Connect, we believe in supporting those who have served and the families who have served alongside them.
That's why we've created the Coastie-Owned Business Directory—a place to discover, connect with, and support small businesses owned by Coast Guard veterans and spouses.
Whether you're looking for professional services, home improvement, outdoor adventures, local shops, or something entirely different, we encourage you to consider supporting a fellow Coastie.

SAR DOG INDUSTRIES
SAR DOG Industries was founded by John and Melissa—two veterans united by service, patriotism, and respect for the people who answer the call.
John served 22 years in the United States Coast Guard, building a career around Search and Rescue and aviation. Melissa is a United States Air Force veteran whose service and commitment remain an important part of the values behind SAR DOG.
This brand is about Search and Rescue. The Coast Guard. Rescue crews. Boats, aircraft, missions—and, most importantly, the people behind them.
We created SAR DOG because we wanted apparel that felt authentic to those who have lived the mission, supported it, or proudly stand behind it—not another generic military apparel brand. Our designs reflect the aircraft, boats, traditions, humor, and sense of purpose found throughout the rescue community.
As avid boaters, we also share a genuine connection to life on the water and the people who protect it. That experience inspires our boating, fishing, aviation, and coastal designs.
SAR DOG is proudly veteran-owned, American-built in spirit, and guided by the Coast Guard motto: SEMPER PARATUS—ALWAYS READY
Carry-On Fitness
Founded by USCGA graduate and Coast Guard helicopter Pilot Patrick Buckley (currently an airline pilot).
I'm on the road 18 to 20 days a month. For a long time, that meant my fitness lived in a constant state of "starting over." I'd find a routine at home, then spend the next three weeks in hotels where the gym was a rack of mismatched dumbbells, a treadmill facing the wall, and a bench that had seen better days.
Every program I tried assumed I had a barbell, a cable machine, or a consistent schedule. I had none of those. I'd walk in tired after a long day, stare at the equipment, do a few half-hearted sets, and leave feeling like I'd wasted the time. That frustration added up, and so did the toll on my energy, my sleep and my health.
So I built the plan I wished I'd had: a real, progressive program designed around exactly what hotel gyms actually have. Then I turned it into an app that tells me what to do, keeps track of my numbers, and works even when the Wi-Fi doesn't.
If you're reading this from a hotel bed with a 5 a.m. alarm set, I get it. Carry-On Fitness is for you.
